We’re energetic outdoor people based in Nelson who play on trails, on cliffs and in the sea. We’re in the software business by day and are full of ideas how to leverage technology to build community and improve the quality of published content for outdoor activities like hiking, trail running and sport climbing.
Information
Since we are local to the Nelson region our initial content focus is on areas we are familiar with and the activities we enjoy most.
Community
We’re interested in community building projects like using social media to organize ride-sharing for both sport climbing and trail running.
We’d like to help promote high standards for the bolting of sport climbs (based on NZAC guidelines) and a community effort to re-equip climbs where the hardware is showing signs of aging.
Technology
We have two specific areas where our interest in technology and our love for the outdoors overlap:
- better topographic maps (vector-based maps – high quality at any scale and with accurate annotated trail information)
- better sport climbing guides (easy to update, single source for multiple publishing targets from print to e-books)
